Stock 89 civic dx

Hello I have a stock 89 honda civic dx I've had it for 2 years and it was my get to school car. I would like to start adding performance parts to it except the engine is on it's last legs. So I figure I should buy a ZC because the info I was reading says it will bolt right up to the stock transmission (which was replaced not long ago) however the transmission is an automatic (hey the car was a gift) anyways I was wondering since I don't have the money or the time to change it all around to a standard tranny will the automatic DX transmission work with the ZC. I know I'd be losing some pwer but I figure with a automatic when I get the cash I could do a heavy mod to the rear end and add another automatic transmission with a ZC to drive the rear tires. I'd also create my own custom built computer to control the whole thing at once (I do have 3 diplomas in electronics and computer technologies). anyone got any Ideas or warnings? my main concern is whether the auto tranny will fit with the ZC engine.

Errrrr Ummmmmm Well Ill just answer the one question Yes it will mount up to your DX trans.

Well yes the ZC will bolt up to your stock trans however you will need to find a Auto ZC (not to hard to find I got one afterall) However the hard part will be finding an Auto ZC computer (I don't know If a Auto 89 teg computer will work or not)

Now this is a fairly uncommon swap (well keeping the auto is) so a little more research might be warrented.

ok I've done a bunch of hunts on the net, I haven't found anything for a ecu to use for this project I guess I have to talk to a honda tech guy. unless anyone else has Ideas about mating a ZC to a DX automatic Tranny? I figure if I could get chips for the DX ecu with the automatic tranny and a chip from the ecu of a dx standard tranny and a chip from a Si standard transmission I could make a custom chip. however that would require lots of work to do. any Ideas out there?

ok another option I have is the D16z6 will this bolt onto the automatic tranny and allow me to keep a dx ecu if I use a standalone vtec controller?

As far as the mounting of an engin in the back. Is it a hatch or a sedan? if it is a hatch you will get a lot of motor noise sedan you will be just as loud as a performance exaust. as far as rear motor choice you should go with something from a porsche they start with rear motors. but the ecus for the motors will give you trouble honda uses linux and german motors use win2k good luck.

ok looked at that car parts web site I sure it's problably there but the info is so condensed I can't understand what they are saying. I saw a website about some guy that took a automatic Integra tranny and hooked in up in the front of his honda civic wagon and had a b16a engine in there too, so I'm waiting for an email back to ask him what controllers he used to get it to work.

ok I've looked into it and it's impossible to find an ecu. So I'm selling the car and going to buy a SI 1989. I'll ask again on this message board about improvements once I have the "new" car
